Golden Triangle/Chiang Mai
The borders of Thailand, Burma and Laos converge at the infamous Golden Triangle, overlooking the Mekong River. Visit an Akha hilltribe village and the old city of Chiang Saen before heading to Mae Sai near the Burmese border. Here, Burmese lacquerware, gems and jade are sold. Return to Chiang Mai to relax with a swim or pick up some last-minute bargains.
