Day 2
Thai House cooking class
Spend a fascinating day at the Thai House, learning to work a wok and the mortar and pestle. The lessons are held in an outdoor classroom, surrounded by an orchard of mango, banana, papaya and coconut trees and a kitchen garden of herbs and spices. Pick up tips to impress friends at your next dinner party or simply to whip up a tasty Thai meal.
Days 3-4
Kanchanaburi
Visit the open-air market to learn how to identify the key ingredients of Thai cuisine. Pay respects to fallen POWs at the Hellfire Pass Memorial before taking a bike tour of a nearby village and farm. Take a paddle boat out to see magical fireflies, before travelling on to centuries-old traditional teak houses on stilts - home for the night.
Rise early to give alms to monks in their longtail boats. There's time afterwards to talk to friendly locals or take walks through tropical fruit orchards before returning to Bangkok.
